Scyld ClusterWare provides a Live Update facility for customers under current maintenance contracts and stands behind it with policies that ensure timely publishing of information regarding security fixes and general updates to the Linux distributions it supports as well as updates to the Scyld ClusterWare software.
Penguin maintains a support portal where customers under maintenance contracts for the Scyld family of software products can access release notes, applications notes, software downloads and other useful information. The Live Update facility uses the popular YUM update facility to enable customers to update their Scyld ClusterWare installation at any time. Customers simply log into the support portal to access the simple update scripts that can accept customer-specific authentication parameters and seek out and install any required updated packages not yet present in their installation.
Penguin Computing regularly publishes new updates, as they become available, into a common update repository so our customers can easily ensure that their Scyld ClusterWare installation is up to date. Penguin also constantly monitors the published updates and security fixes for the Red Hat Enterprise Linux and CentOS Linux distributions supported by Scyld ClusterWare. Penguin does not re-host these updates published by the Linux providers but does regularly qualify these updates with Scyld ClusterWare to ensure compatibility and identifies which ones are ready for you to update and provides guidance on where to go to get them from the Linux provider.
