Each Penguin Altus 1702 system delivers two independent x86 nodes, doubling the number of CPUs and horsepower available in 1U rackmount form factor. Altus 1702 is targeted for cluster deployments where compute capacity needs to be delivered within constrained physical space. Inside Altus 1702 is about similar to two shrinked Altus 650 systems: Each of the two nodes supports features such as NVIDIA chipset, two AMD Opteron 2300 Series "Shanghai" CPUs and high performance DDR2-800 memory. Integrated InfiniBand DDR (Double Data Rate, 20Gbps) interface is available as an option.
