Penguin supports your public cloud, private cloud, dedicated cloud and "hybrid" computing needs.

Penguin provides you with a full set of tools and libraries that lets you create and manage your HPC cloud resource. With the POD Web Services, you have secure, authenticated access to stage-in your applications and data, run and monitor your jobs, and stage-out your results directly to your local client.

POD

POD offers a cost effective way to access the benefits of HPC resources with great technology and performance. It allows you to quickly scale throughput while only paying for the resources consumed. Typically customers have a dedicated login node which can be used to transfer data and to host a front end for their application available. From this login node, jobs are launched onto an HPC cluster. Various networking and storage options are available. PODTools also offers customers an easy entry point for POD since only a supported Mac or Linux laptop is required to use POD (a login node is not required).

Private Cloud

Customers that have a requirement for computing resources to be located at facilities they already have available choose the Penguin's Private Cloud offering. Penguin Computing engineers work with you to design a cluster that fits your workload and facility requirements. The Penguin HPC Cloud team takes care of installing and configuring your cluster and will take care of all operational and maintenance tasks using a combination of remote and on-site resources.

We can either reserve a portion of our public cloud for you on a monthly or yearly basis, or design and host a specific configuration tailored to meet your needs.

Dedicated Cloud

We have many customers that have a need for dedicated HPC resources and wish to leverage Penguin Computing's hardware and clustering expertise. The Penguin Dedicated Cloud offering meets those needs. We work with you designing cloud solutions that meets your specific needs for performance in server, networking and storage. These solutions are deployed at a Penguin HPC datacenter offering high efficiency and secure colocation.

Hybrid Cloud

Penguin also offers an HPC Hybrid Cloud configuration for those users seeking to utilize the On Demand offering to augment their internal capacity. Many businesses have in-house clusters that meet their daily demand. Sometimes new projects or excess demand for short periods require additional resources, new hardware, or different networking topologies than the in-house cluster provides. In these instances Penguin HPC On Demand can be configured to handle that excess load. It can be utilized to simply run your current workload, or you can use it handle jobs requiring Infiniband or GPU support before investing in that functionality in-house.
